The India-Pakistan game at the MCG saw a large crowd witnessing something extraordinary and it was the men in blue who emerged victorious in the T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12 stages. Virat Kohli played an unbeaten stupendous knock of 82 off 53 balls in conditions when it was hard to time the ball and helped India' dramatic comeback from 31 for 4 while chasing 160.

However, it wasn’t Kohli who hit the winning runs and the off-spinner Ravi Ashwin was at the striker’s end with India requiring two needed off the last ball. The 36-year-old managed to keep his composure and did not move around the crease which got him one run through a wide. With one needed off the last delivery, Ashwin chipped one above the field to use the vacant area and jumped in air after helping India to a nail-biting win.

As soon as I got that one run, I got so relaxed: R Ashwin

Speaking about the game on his YouTube Channel, Ravi Ashwin told that the recent India-Pakistan game will go down as one of the greatest if not the ‘greatest’. He further claimed it as the longest he had to walk to the pitch due to the pressure of the game and explained that the wide helped him to relax a bit in the pressure situation.

“I have played so many games, I can say this one was one of the greatest. I have so many memories and whenever I say this is the ‘greatest’, another one keeps getting better and becoming the greatest. That’s why I called it as one of the ‘greatest’. This will be very tough to beat, if not the ‘greatest’,” Ashwin told in a video on his YouTube Channel.

“Easily, this was my longest walk to the centre of the ground. It seemed like I was walking for ages to get to the pitch. I saw Virat Kohli and he told me so many things.”

“The moment I saw the ball doing down the leg side, I decided not to have any business playing it and decided to leave it alone and got one run for the wide. As soon as I got that one run, I got so relaxed," he added.

Ashwin also recalled his former head coach Ravi Shastri’s words of “Has the penny dropped" and wondered if the excitement over the win will have an end anytime.

“And thank God, it did (the next ball landed in a vacant area after Ashwin chipped it). But what a moment! Seriously! Ravi Shastri says this frequently “Has the penny dropped". I don’t know if it has dropped or not, but is definitely time to hit the reset button. A fantastic memory, a fantastic game,” he added.
