Would like to see Axar Patel bat as well: Rohit Sharma

After two terrific performances with the bowl, Axar Patel is now the leading wicket-taker of the T20I series between India and Australia. In a rain-affected match, Axar bowled two of the most crucial overs, including one in the powerplay and picked up two wickets giving away just 13 runs in the process.

The left-arm spinner bamboozled Glenn Maxwell and Tim David as both the hard-hitters failed to judge Axar's deliveries. Now, even though he’s been stellar with the bowl, Indian captain Rohit Sharma is eager to see him bat. Coming in place of Ravindra Jadeja, the 28-year-old has big shoes to fill. Jadeja was a master of all three departments and thus, the Indian team management wants Axar to play a similar role. Now, that he’s proved himself with the bowl, it’s only the batting part that’s left.

“Axar can bowl in any stage, which gives me an advantage of using the other bowlers in different situations too - maybe use the pacers in the middle overs if he bowls in the powerplay. I would like to see his batting as well,” said Rohit Sharma after winning the Man of the Match trophy for the second T20I.

As a team, we are not going to analyse too much: Rohit Sharma on Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah’s return to playing XI is a relief for millions of fans watching the game. Death overs has been a problem for India for quite some time and Bumrah is a specialist in that department. On his return, the speedster gave away 23 runs and picked up the wicket of Aaron Finch, who was looking dangerous in the middle. Even after bowling well, captain Rohit said that the Indian team will not analyse his game and just let him enjoy the game

Jasprit is coming back after a couple of months, the back injury can be tricky. I am not going to talk too much about how he bowled. Got us the crucial wicket. As a team, we are not going to analyze too much. Just want him to come and enjoy,” said the 35-year-old.
