Puducherry captain and all-rounder Aman Khan had a forgettable day in domestic cricket as he entered the record books for an unwanted reason during a Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 game against Jharkhand. The 29-year-old conceded 123 runs from his quota of ten overs, registering the most expensive bowling spell ever recorded in men’s List A cricket.

The record-breaking spell came in an Elite Group fixture played in Ahmedabad, where Jharkhand put up a strong batting performance. After being put in to bat, Jharkhand posted a total of 368 for 7 in 50 overs. The innings was headlined by skipper Kumar Kushagra, who smashed 105 off 104 balls, while all-rounder Anukul Roy narrowly missed out on a century, remaining unbeaten on 98. Utkarsh Singh also played a valuable role at the top with a 74.

Meanwhile, Khan was one of only three Puducherry bowlers to complete his full quota of overs, but he finished with figures of 0 for 123 at an economy rate of 12.3, surpassing the previous unwanted record held by Arunachal Pradesh pacer Mibom Mosu, who had conceded 116 runs in nine overs earlier in the same tournament.

Anukul was the chief aggressor against the Puducherry captain. From just 17 balls faced, the southpaw scored 59 runs, smashing seven sixes. Kushagra also went after Aman, scoring 33 runs off 21 deliveries. In his final over, Aman went for 32 runs and ultimately pushed himself into unwanted List A history.

In reply, Puducherry never threatened the chase and were bowled out for 235 in 41.4 overs, losing the match by 133 runs. Jashwanth Shreeram top-scored with a 74-ball 60, while Aman contributed 28 off 24 balls before being run out by Roy.

The 29-year-old had made his List A debut for Mumbai in 2021 before switching to Puducherry. He has IPL experience with Kolkata Knight Riders (2022) and Delhi Capitals (2023) and was recently picked up by Chennai Super Kings for INR 40 lakh at the IPL 2026 auction.
