Rajasthan Royals visited Chandigarh to face the 2014 Indian Premier League finalists Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the newly built Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur. Rajasthan Royals opted to bowl first on a tricky pitch and forced the hosts to bat first. It turned out to be a great decision, as the Punjab Kings were able to only put 147 on the scoreboard.
In response, Rajasthan Royals struggled to chase it down, but small cameos from the middle order batters along with a strong opening partnership took them to the vital victory. This is the 5th win of the season for the Royals and they look in a strong spot to qualify for the Playoffs for this edition of the Indian Premier League.

Meanwhile, Punjab Kings are having a horror campaign up till now as this defeat marks their fourth across six games in the Indian Premier League 2024 so far. They have an uphill task in front of them as they enter a hectic schedule in the tournament. The franchise qualifies for the Playoffs very rarely, and this seems to be another year where they miss out.
Punjab Kings play out some giants of the competition in the upcoming matches of the competition. Their next game is against the Mumbai Indians, and they would be looking to make the home advantage to their benefit. The Shikhar Dhawan-led side would be hoping for a much better performance with the bat on April 18 and get the much-needed win to get their campaign on the move.

They would be hoping to get victories in both the games with comfortable margins in order to stand a chance to qualify for this year’s play-offs.
