In a recent interview, former Indian cricketer, and IPL-winning player for CSK and Mumbai, Ambati Rayudu, spoke about his career and the Indian Team’s performance in the ODI World Cup 2023, as well as a lot about his personal and professional life.

When asked about his career, he expressed disappointment at how it ended and how the team management treated him. Rayudu mentioned that the team management thought he lacked confidence due to his calm and quiet demeanour, which he called stupid logic. He also expressed disappointment at being dropped from the team after a single bad performance and stated that he never asked anyone for favours.

“Everybody's story is going to be different, but I'm happy that I never asked anybody for any favour,” Rayudu said on The Ranveer Show in a YouTube podcast when asked if he should have been given more chances by the team management at the international level.

When asked about which World Cup loss against the Aussies would hurt India more, the 2003 or the 2023, he said that both defeats would hurt for a very long time, but this time in 2023, India had a much stronger side than in 2003.

“I think Australia was much stronger than us, but this time, definitely, we were a stronger side,” he said.

2011 was a better Indian side in general because of the skill factor: Rayudu

When asked if he has seen a better Indian side than this in general, Rayudu said that the 2011 World Cup-winning team led by MS Dhoni was a better Indian side in general because of the skill factor, experience, and everything. Still, this 2023 side played the best in all the World Cups that he has ever seen.

“I feel this is the best Indian side I've seen play in a World Cup. 2011 was a better Indian side in general because of the skill factor and the experience and everything, but this side, I think, played the best in all the World Cups that I have seen,” Rayudu added.
