Australia opener Usman Khawaja looked in amazing rhythm in the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. After finishing Day 1 at an individual score of 104, the southpaw continued his innings on Day 2 and helped Australia post a colossal 480 runs on the board.

The dashing Australia opener also stitched a crucial 208-run stand with Cameron Green to strengthen his team's position. Following his magnificent hundred, former Australia cricketers Ian Chappell and Matthew Hayden heaped praises on the left-handed opener.

While Khawaja was busy playing one of the memorable knocks of his career, his daughters were cheering for him from home in Australia. Taking to Instagram, his wife Rachel posted a picture of her daughters watching the innings on TV. "Uzzys littlest supporters here at home cheering him on! Hi Dadda," she captioned the post.

The 36-year-old ended with 180 runs in 422 deliveries with help of 21 fours before he got dismissed lbw by Axar Patel. The left-arm spinner’s appeal was turned down by the on-field umpire but the hosts successfully reviewed the decision.

Meanwhile, after wrapping Australia’s innings on 480 on Day 2, Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill came out to bat and ended the day putting up 36 runs without any loss. However, on Day 3, India received an early blow as skipper Rohit fell to spinner Matthew Khunemann for 35 off 58, with three fours and a maximum.

Speaking of others, opener Gill scored a century and added 113 runs with Cheteshwar Pujara for the second wicket. Pujara was dismissed by Todd Murphy for 42 off 121 before Tea as India went for break at 188/2 with Gill and Virat Kohli in the middle.
