The newly announced PCB management committee, following the departure of PCB chief Ramiz Raja, has hit the ground running after showing the doors to chief selector Mohammad Wasim on Friday. The committee led by former PCB chairman Najam Sethi have also disbanded all the committees that were formed under the previous regime.

The former Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Wasim, who represented the country in 18 Test matches, was named the chief selector for the national side in December 2020. He recently drafted Pakistan's Test squad for the upcoming home series against the Kiwis later this month. He was expected to continue in his role until the 2023 ODI World Cup in India but was shown the door via an email from the Najam Sethi-led committee on Friday.

"We are going to disband all committees today because they were constituted under the 2019 constitution that has been revoked and shall reconstitute them under the new SRO," Sethi told ESPNcricinfo.

Former Pakistani cricketer Ramiz Raja was sacked from his post following a dismal showing by the Test team in the recently concluded series against England. Najam Sethi, who had previously served as the PCB chair, was reinstated as part of a 14-member committee nominated by the Pakistani prime minister and patron-in-chief of the PCB, Shehbaz Sharif.

"I don’t know whether there is a need to make changes in the squad, we will see if fresh ideas are required. It would have been better if the squad had not been announced,” he added.

The newly introduced committee has been given a deadline of 120 days to reinstate the 2014 PCB constitution, replacing the 2019 constitution that was introduced after the arrival of Imran Khan as the prime minister of the country. The ongoing shake-up will see the committee elect a new chairman in the upcoming days, along with the formation of a board of governors.
