The Pakistan cricket team had a tournament to remember in the recently concluded T20 World Cup in Australia, taking fans on a roller coaster ride on their run to the final of the ICC event. However, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ramiz Raja has served a legal notice to veteran wicketkeeper-batter Kamran Akmal for his alleged 'defamatory, false and offensive' remarks about the team.

Babar Azam's side were on the receiving end of criticism from ex-players and experts after losing their opening two fixtures against India and Zimbabwe. The loss against minnows Zimbabwe initiated a notion that the current skipper should be sacked from his role. Following the criticism, Pakistani wicketkeeper-batter Kamran Akmal finds himself in legal trouble after his remarks on his YouTube channel did not go down well with the PCB chief.

"I don't know exactly what charges they have made against Kamran but apparently the legal notice has been sent because the chairman feels Kamran made defamatory, false, and offensive comments in the media about him," a source close to the developments told reporters.

PCB's legal team has been advised to take swift action against any defamatory, offensive, personal, false, and damaging comment made toward Pakistan cricket. According to reports, other cricket experts might also come under scrutiny for their remarks on the Pakistani team in the coming days.

"Some of them clearly cross the line while criticising the team, management, board and chairman and Ramiz has made it clear he is not going to tolerate anyone running down or defaming Pakistan cricket anymore,” the source added.

Babar's captaincy stint has seen the side lose two finals in the space of three months, with the form of the influential batter dipping to an all-time low. The classy batter struggled for runs throughout the tournament and looked like a shadow of his former self. His opener partner Mohammad Rizwan did not cover himself in glory either, failing to give their side a start on numerous occasions.
