India will be looking to seal the three-match T20I series early by aiming for a win in the upcoming second match. Having won the first fixture, India has an upper hand in the series with a lead of 1-0. On the other hand, it is a do-or-die situation for South Africa as they need to win both the remaining games hereon in order to win the series.

In the first game, bowlers Arshdeep Singh and Deepak Chahar dominated India’s bowling, as the duo picked up five wickets in the powerplay. While Chahar picked up two wickets within two overs, Arsdheep Singh struck thrice in his first over as the two provided the visitors with a major setback. As a result, the Proteas could not score many runs by the end.

The Indian top order held off on their newly chosen motto of all-out attack as they chased a low score. Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli lost their wickets very early as the South African bowlers posed a threat to start the second innings. But opener KL Rahul showcased endurance in the face of the South African pacers' ferocious spells.

In the midst of the mayhem, India's new number four Suryakumar Yadav showed no interest in adopting a cautious stance as he came out and pummelled Anrich Nortje for back-to-back sixes. The two kept going till the end and took India over the finish line to win the first contest by eight wickets in Thiruvananthapuram.

Here’s a look at how the weather will behave during the IND vs SA clash:

The weather at Assam’s Guwahati does not look very delightful, as rain may play a spoilsport. Scattered and light thunderstorms are expected at the start of the play. As per weather.com, the weather in Guwahati’s Barsapara Cricket Stadium will be sunny and cloudy till 5 PM IST, but there are chances of rain thereon, majorly after 7 PM.

Due to the slow pace of the track, the Barsapara pitch has turned out to be relatively low-scoring. Because batters have a hard time adjusting to the pitch's tempo, the average score at the location is only 138 runs. Due to the variety of bounces and turns available, the spinners will be crucial in this situation. The situation for the hitters could get worse if it rains since it might make the surface sloppy.
