Former Pakistan star batter Javed Miandad has issued a warning for the Pakistani middle-order. The former skipper has said that the batters need to play with more responsibility else they will be replaced very quickly.
At present, the Men in Green are taking on England in a seven-match T20I series. The home team somehow managed to level the series during the fourth T20I encounter, but the Pakistani middle-order was exposed once again as they failed to capitalize on a perfect start given by the openers.
Talking about the fourth match, skipper Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan gave a good start with the bat, but the home team lost its way after Rizwan got out as Shan Masood (21 off 19 balls) and Khushdil Shah (two runs) failed to get going at no.3 and 4 respectively.
Itne badi aawam hain, competition bohot hai: Javed Miandad
“If I give a player 2-3 innings and he doesn't perform, I will replace him,” Miandad told reporters as he talked about the middle-order in a video posted by Sports Paktv. “Aap Pakistan ke liye khel rahe ho. Ye meri ghar ki team nahi hai. Itni badi aawam hain, isme se saare aa sakte hain. Competition bohot hai. (You are playing for Pakistan. This is not my personal team. We have such a big population, and there's a lot of competition),” the former Pakistan captain further stated.
Miandad also said that the players need to understand that if they do not perform in every match then the team's performance will not improve. “These players have to realize that they have to perform in every match. If you don't perform, your team will not improve,".
Meanwhile, the Men in Green will take on England in the fifth match of the series, at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on September 28 (Wednesday). Both teams will want to win the encounter and take a lead in the seven-match series.
