Rohit Sharma finally made his return in the blue and gold of the Mumbai Indians against the Lucknow Super Giants at the Wankhede Stadium after missing five games with a hamstring injury.

His status as a cricketer often leaves him in a position where he has to interact with eccentric and excited fans, who adore him. In a video posted by the franchise on social media, a female fan was seen excitedly running towards Rohit, taking her phone out to click a selfie with the star. However, at that moment, her phone's battery went dead, which meant she failed to take the picture.

Rohit made his way to the team bus as the fan asked him to wait. Rohit was visibly irritated at the time, but the fan finally managed someone else's phone, eventually clicking the photo she would cherish for a long, long time.

Rohit has had a tumultuous IPL 2026 in what has been a dismal season for the Mumbai Indians. He started the season scoring a flawless 78 off 38 against the Kolkata Knight Riders but saw his form wane, scoring just 137 runs in four innings before injuring his hamstring against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, which also forced him to retire himself out of the match midway through his innings at the Wankhede Stadium.

The mercurial batter made his return against the Lucknow Super Giants on May 4, scoring a brilliant 84 off 44 balls. The knock included the ace opener stitching a 143-run stand for the opening wicket off just 65 deliveries with partner Ryan Rickelton, which set the platform for a comfortable chase of 229. Rohit has scored 221 runs in five innings with a whopping strike rate of 170.

Speaking of Mumbai Indians, the five-time champions have had a dismal season in IPL 2026, with just three wins in ten matches. They take on the RCB in the second meeting of the season between the two sides, which is slated to take place at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur on Sunday, May 10.
