England pacer Chris Jordan has joined Trinbago Knight Riders for the remainder of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League 2024. The 35-year-old was part of the TKR squad in 2019, when he played five matches, picking up seven wickets at an economy rate of 9.05. In 2024, he replaced USA fast bowler Ali Khan, who has been ruled out of the CPL following an injury.

TKR are currently fourth on the points table, with three wins in four matches. Ahead of their home leg, which begins on September 19, Jordan’s inclusion will boost their confidence and will also add experience to their bowling unit. In 2024, he represented England in seven T20Is, picking up 12 wickets at an economy of 9.07. He also picked up a hat trick earlier in the year against USA.

Imran Tahir ruled out for 10 days

Guyana Amazon Warriors captain Imran Tahir has been ruled out of the competition for 10 days. The spinner missed their last game against Barbados Royals as Shai Hope stood in for him. Notably, the 45-year-old has been effective for the franchise as it was under his leadership that Warriors won the championship in 2023. This year  in three matches, he has picked up six wickets at an economy of 9.63.

Nathan Sowter has been called up to replace Tahir for the next few matches. Meanwhile, all-rounder Romario Shepherd is also on his way back from a toe injury. He played a vital role in Warriors' success last year. However, he has played only one match so far in the CPL 2024, against the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons, where he gave away just 13 runs in his three overs and smashed 32 off 16 to help his team win by three wickets.

Warriors are currently third on the points table with six points in three games. They will next play the Trinbago Knight Riders at Port of Spain.
