Tom Kohler -Cadmore's innovative protective gear caught the attention of cricket enthusiasts during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 clash between Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Wednesday, May 15.

In his debut IPL game, the right-handed batter failed to make an impact with the bat, as he made a sluggish 18 off 23 balls after opening the innings for the Royals. However, what fascinated the fans was a protective gear that the English batter was wearing during his batting stint. Many wondered whether it was a fashion accessory. Others wondered if it was a device to track his health.

However, it was actually called the Q-Collar, developed by a company named Q30 Innovations. The Q-Collar is a lightweight device that athletes across the globe wear to minimize the risk of head injuries. The device has been mostly used by American football players in the NFL (National Football League) to protect them from brain injuries.
