Rovman Powell has revealed his conversations with Sunil Narine regarding the latter's potential return to the West Indies Cricket. It has been a while since the star cricketer last played a major tournament for the West Indies in T20Is. In 2019, Narine represented the men in maroon against India, which was his last T20I for the West Indies.

In the ongoing IPL, Narine has been in brilliant form both as a batter and bowler. With the bat, he has scored 276 runs in six innings at a batting average of 46.00 and a batting strike rate of 187.76, including a hundred and a fifty to his name. With the ball, he has claimed seven wickets at a bowling average of 23.57, at an economy rate of 6.88.

In the match against RR, the star player registered his maiden T20 ton and claimed two wickets and a catch. Despite the mighty efforts, KKR lost a thriller. Powell played a key role for RR with his 26(13) that changed the momentum of the game. After a thrilling win, Powell appeared in the post-match conference.

Narine has blocked out everyone: Rovman Powell

Powell was asked about Narine's potential return to the international side. The RR batter claimed that the KKR star's selection will depend on his own decision. "It is what it is but we will have to see what the future holds," said Narine after his ton against RR as quoted by Cricbuzz.

Powell also went on to reveal that Narine had blocked out everyone who consulted him for a return in the last year or so.

"For the last 12 months, I have been whispering in his ears, but he's blocked out everyone," said Powell in his statement. The star batter claimed that there were indirect approaches towards Narine in the form of his friends like Kieron Pollard, Nicholas Pooran, and Dwayne Bravo to try and get him back in the team.

Rovman hoped to get a code to crack the Narine puzzle ahead of the T20 WC 2024. "I've asked [Kieron] Pollard, [Dwayne] Bravo, [Nicholas] Pooran. Hopefully, before they select the team, they can crack his code," added Powell.
