Ace Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja made a cheeky comment on his role in the Indian team. Speaking of his impact on the side, Jadeja opined that he always thinks like a captain, but it is another thing that he is not one.
"From the first day, I think like a captain but it is another thing that I am not the one. As an all-rounder, scoring 30-35 runs and being a partnership breaker, that's the role I have. I always try to give an impactful performance,” Ravindra Jadeja said.
"And I never take fielding for granted. I can also miss a catch, so I am always prepared that if I get a catch, I don't relax on the field. So, I just keep trying. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. But I keep trying," he added.

Meanwhile, Jadeja was excellent against South Africa in India's massive 237-run win in the 37th game of the tournament at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday, November 5. After team India posted a total of 326 runs on the board in the first innings on the back of Virat Kohli's 49th ODI century and Shreyas Iyer's crucial half-century, the team followed it with a sensational bowling performance to outplay their opponents.
Jadeja was the highest wicket taker for the side, taking a brilliant five-wicket haul after a 29-run cameo with the bat. Apart from Jadeja, Mohammed Shami and Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets each while Mohammed Siraj struck once as India bundled out South Africa for just 83 runs.
Speaking of his performance, Jadeja stated that he was happy that he was able to contribute and added that he will approach the forthcoming matches with more confidence. "My rhythm has been good in the last few games and I am happy that I am able to contribute for the team in important games. I am delivering with both bat and ball. I will be more confident about my own game in the coming matches," Jadeja said.
