India and Australia are all set to continue their ongoing ODI series as they gear up to face each other in the second ODI of the series at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on Sunday, September 24. Currently, team India has the upper hand in the series as they won the first ODI in convincing fashion.

However, as the second ODI came around, Australia made some significant changes to their lineup for the clash in Indore. It is worth noting that skipper Pat Cummins has been rested for the second ODI as ace batter Steve Smith has taken up the mantle of the skipper once again as they gear up to face India once again.

Apart from Cummins, all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been rested for the second ODI as well. In place of Cummins, Australia went with 27-year-old Spencer Johnson as replacement.

Australia aim to make amends

Speaking of the second ODI, Australia won the toss and opted to bowl first at the Holkar Stadium. The side will be keen on putting in a good performance, as they will hope to level the series.

India and Australia took on each other in the first ODI of the series at the Inderjit Singh Bindra Stadium in Mohali on Friday, September 22, where not only did the hosts limit Australia to a subpar total but they showcased their class during the run chase as well.

After registering a comfortable five-wicket win in the first ODI, India will look to clinch the series by winning the clash in Indore. However, with some changes made to the Australian lineup, it could be interesting to see how the Steve Smith-led side will fare against an in-form team India.

Australia XI for second ODI: David Warner, Matt Short, Steven Smith (capt), Marnus Labuschagne, Josh Inglis, Alex Carey (wk), Cameron Green, Sean Abbott, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood, Spencer Johnson
