Team India has been in sensational form in the ongoing Asia Cup. The side made it to the Super Four stage of the tournament after facing off against Pakistan and Nepal, and they have registered wins in both the Super Four games as well.

After defeating Pakistan by a mammoth 228 runs, India followed it up by defeating Sri Lanka by 41 runs. Across the two games, it is safe to say that the performance of star spinner Kuldeep Yadav has been the most consistent. The 28-year-old took a fifer against Pakistan and followed it up by taking four wickets and conceding 43 runs in 9.3 overs against Sri Lanka.

Kuldeep’s wicket-taking prowess was crucial to India's registering a win. Seeing his continued brilliance, Indian captain Rohit Sharma came forward to heap massive praise on the 28-year-old. Rohit opined that Kuldeep has been bowling brilliantly for the past year and that he has worked very hard to make his comeback into the lineup.

"For the past year or so bowling really really well. He has done a lot of hard work on his rhythm. He went back to the drawing board and worked on it. The ball is coming out nicely and you can see the results in the last 10 ODIs," Rohit Sharma was quoted as saying by IndiaToday.

It is worth noting that despite being one of India’s most integral players at the ODI World Cup 2019, Yadav fell out of favour after he sustained several injuries and lost his form. However, through incredible resilience, the spinner made his way back into team India’s squad and was the first-choice pick for the Asia Cup 2023 and the ODI World Cup 2023.

With 31 wickets in 15 matches, Kuldeep has been in stellar form in 2023, and he will be keen on adding to his tally in the forthcoming matches and will be expected to perform at the peak of his powers at the World Cup.
