After winning the one-off Test against England in the summer, Australia were the favourites to keep the Ashes. However, the Alyssa Healy-led side suffered back-to-back defeats in the ODI and T20I series, which complicated things a little bit for them. However, the series ended 8-8 after the ODI and T20I series, and courtesy of the same, the Aussies managed to keep the trophy.

Reflecting on the performance, Healy mentioned that the series against England has helped them improve in certain areas as they have learned a lot. She believes that it will also help individuals get better in the coming tournaments.

“It's given us a great opportunity to come home and reflect and find some little areas that we can improve on, which I think is only going to make our team and us as individuals even better moving forward. Which I think is a fantastic outcome, that we can come home with the trophy and also come home with some learnings,” Healy was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au.

I think it's a new little time for our group to almost re-evolve: Healy

Notably, Australia will play a six-game white-ball series against West Indies, starting October 1 at North Sydney Oval. Following this, the team will host South Africa for a multi-format series. Speaking about that, Healy mentioned that they got some time off the game and believe that it will help them re-evolve. She believes that it is time to reset some goals and wants the players to raise the bar.

“It's exciting, I think it's a new little time for our group to almost re-evolve. We did a great job of that (after the 2017 World Cup) but I think it's a great opportunity now to reset some goals and work out how we can continue to raise the bar for ourselves and to just keep improving the standard,” the 33-year-old said.
