There have been two editions of the Road Safety World Series thus far. The inaugural edition was paused midway due to an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in March 2020. The league resumed in 2021 with Australia pulling out due to pandemic-related travel restrictions and teams from Bangladesh and England filling in. India won the six-team tournament by defeating Sri Lanka in the finals by 14 runs. Prior to the break, the tournament was scheduled in Mumbai but it resumed in 2021 in Raipur.

The second season was played across four cities - Kanpur, Indore, Dehradun, and Raipur. India once again managed to win the final against Sri Lanka, this time by 33 runs. This season featured eight teams as Australia returned while New Zealand joined the fray.

Pakistan weren't among the teams that took part in the last couple of editions of the event. However, the scenario is set to change in the upcoming edition of the Road Safety World Series as India's arch-rivals are set to take part in the tournament that is scheduled to be held in England. The dates for the event are yet to be finalised, but it seems that it will start in September and go on for three weeks. Nine teams will be taking part in this year's event.

Some big names have played in the tournament

The T20 tournament has seen some ODI and T20 World Cup winners like Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Irfan Pathan, Dwayne Smith, Kevin Pietersen, Sanath Jayasuriya, Shane Watson, Brett Lee, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Sanath Jayasuriya, and Thisara Perera among others.

Legends of the game like Brian Lara, Jonty Rhodes, Makhaya Ntini, Ross Taylor, and many more have featured in the event which has grown the league's popularity by leaps and bounds since its inception. With the addition of Pakistan, the tournament is surely going to get a lot more eyeballs.
