The ODI World Cup 2023 is looming around the corner; the marquee event is all set to be hosted by India and begin on October 5. With the tournament rapidly approaching, India will be considered heavy favourites going into the competition.

There is no doubt that India contain a plethora of talented players who could make a significant impact in the competition. Stars like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and many more would be keen on staying at the top of their game at the global event.

Speaking of the same, former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra came forward to highlight the talent that the Indian team has in its top order. Rohit was sensational for India in the World Cup 2019, and Chopra hyped him up to go big once again in October.

"When we talk about the top three, it seems like who is better than us? Sare jahan se acha Hindustan hamara - you get a feeling like that from within because we have Shubman Gill alongside Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will come after them," Aakash Chopra said in a video on his YouTube channel.

"Rohit Sharma has scored more than 9800 runs. He has scored 30 centuries, has an average of nearly 49, and a strike rate of 90. It's almost similar in Asia. So you can assume that Rohit Sharma is going to hit you. If he plays all nine matches, he should score two centuries and one daddy hundred as an opener. I am expecting that," he added.

It is worth noting that Rohit Sharma has played 244 ODIs for India so far in his career, where he has amassed 9837 runs to his name at an average of 48.69 runs, with 30 centuries under his belt in the format. Under his leadership, India will rely a lot on his performances at the upcoming World Cup. The side will kick-off their campaign by taking on Australia in Chennai on October 8.
