South African wicketkeeper-batter Heinrich Klassen is currently in the form of his life. The 31-year-old has been enjoying some sensational performances in recent months, and his red-hot form has not gone unnoticed in the slightest. After his magnificent performances in the SA20 2023, he was selected in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 where he represented Sunrisers Hyderabad.

To no one’s surprise, Klassen showed just what he was made of at the marquee tournament as well. Playing 12 matches in the IPL 2023, Klassen amassed 448 runs to his name at an average of 49.78 runs, including a brilliant century as well.

Currently, he represents Seattle Orcas at the ongoing MLC (Major League Cricket) 2023, and he recently came forward to talk of his form after his superb half-century against San Francisco Unicorns at the tournament.

"Definitely hitting the ball best I've been hitting in my career. So, I have been experimenting in the last couple of years which finally got me a clear formula that has been successful for me. I've been sticking with it over the past 30 months and hopefully the wave keeps coming and I can stay onboard to keep riding it," Klassen was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

Had to go back to the drawing board: Klassen

Furthermore, Klassen also came forward to reflect on how things have not always looked so bright for him. Talking of a bad phase in his career, he explained how he was able to get out of the slump and play some of his best cricket once again.

"About 24-30 months earlier, I averaged about 4 over 6 months so that's where I thought to experiment a little about my style of cricket again. I got dropped out of domestic cricket which was a big blow for me. I never thought I'd be dropped from the domestic system. Had to go back to the drawing board, find new ways to score runs and come back mentally stronger," he said.
