When Stuart Broad was dropped for the first Test in the previous Ashes in Australia, many questioned the move. On Day 4 of the ongoing Edgbaston Test, Broad has once again shown his mettle by producing one of the best spells of the year.
After David Warner and Usman Khawaja laid a solid foundation with a 61-run stand in the last session on Day 4, it was imperative that England finished the day's play by making some inroads. Ollie Robinson stepped up as he dismissed Warner for 36. After the dismissal, it was time for Stuart Broad to wreak havoc. The experienced pacer bowled impeccable line and lengths and got the ball to swing in both directions with commendable accuracy. Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith did their best to survive, but, eventually, were caught behind off two outswingers.
Broad's teammate, Harry Brook, praised the veteran as he gave his thoughts on the potentially match-winning spell. Brook said that he felt like Broad would get a wicket every ball.
"It was good. Felt like he (Broad) was going to get a wicket every ball. Especially when we got it swinging there at the end. He was awesome then and hopefully he can carry it on tomorrow," Broad's teammate Harry Brook said in a video posted by England Cricket on their Twitter handle.
"The way we are going about our business is fun, and that's the most fun I have had in the dressing room ever. So to be involved in this era and what the lads have done in the past 12 months has been phenomenal. I haven't had as much on the cricket field as I had in the last six months."

The game is placed on a knife edge as Australia need 174 runs for victory with seven wickets in hand on Day 5. Harry Brook sounded confident about his team's chances of going 1-0 up in the series. The youngster feels that taking early wickets in the morning session will be crucial.
"Obviously I am going to be biased and say we are going to win. Hopefully we can get a couple of early wickets in the morning and try and run through them."
Usman Khawaja (34*) and Scott Boland (13*) will resume Australia's innings on Day 5, with the score at 107/3.
