The 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) final will be played between the four-time IPL winners Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the reigning champions Gujarat Titans (GT) on Sunday, May 28, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Both GT and CSK have had a memorable season, finishing first and second in the IPL 2023 points table, respectively.

Both the teams would be eager to win the championship as MS Dhoni and Co. would like to tie the record of the Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians (MI) by winning their fifth title, while the Titans would like to win the title for the second time in a row.

Chennai recovered from an awful showing in the previous IPL season, when they finished ninth in the ten-team league. However, in 2023, they finished at the second spot in the table, with 17 points after winning eight of their 14 matches. Furthermore, the MS Dhoni-led side was the first team to qualify for the final this year as they outplayed table-toppers GT in Qualifier 1 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on May 23.

The Titans, on the other hand, were just as successful as they were in their inaugural season. The Hardik Pandya-led side has won ten of their 14 league stage matches, earning 20 points. Despite failing to advance to the final in the first qualifier game, they bounced back and registered a comfortable win over Mumbai in Qualifier 2 in Ahmedabad.

With the final taking place at the world's largest cricket stadium, fans are expected to flock in great numbers to see the enthralling match. Tickets are sold out, with a large capacity of 1.2 lakh people expected to attend the event. Meanwhile, the television broadcasting rights and live streaming of the competition in India have been acquired by Star Sports Network and JioCinema respectively, and the viewers can enjoy the game from the comforts of their home by tuning in there.
