The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the new members of the selection committee, with former Indian cricketer Chetan Sharma set to rejoin the board as the Chairman of the senior men’s selection committee.
BCCI received around 600 applications for the selection committee after the previous panel was disbanded following India's disappointing T20 World Cup campaign in Australia. While Chetan Sharma is slated to continue in his role as the chairman of the selection committee, Shiv Sundar Das, Subroto Banerjee, Salil Ankola, and Sridharan Sharath will form the five-member committee.
"The Board received around 600 applications following its advertisement for the five posts issued on its official website on 18th November 2022. Upon due deliberation and careful consideration, the CAC shortlisted 11 individuals for personal interviews. Based on the interviews, the Committee has recommended the following candidates for the Senior Men’s National Selection Committee," BCCI said in an official statement.
