The three-match ODI series between Bangladesh and India came to an end as the hosts clinched the series 2-1. However, India produced a fine performance in the final ODI despite losing the series and registered one of their biggest victories, by margin of runs, in ODI history. In the absence of injured skipper Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan got a chance to open and he went on to claim his maiden double century in ODIs.
Virat Kohli, on the other end, managed to end his century drought in ODIs and India recorded a mammoth score of 409/8 after being put to bat first. In reply, Bangladesh were all-out for just 182 and they were handed their second-biggest defeat, by margin of runs, in ODIs as they lost by 227 runs. There surely were a lot of takeaways for both sides with the Test series in line to start in few days time. Meanwhile, let us look at the talking points from the third ODI.
Ishan Kishan's name etched in history books with golden words
Ishan Kishan broke an array of records during his 210-run knock as he scored the fastest double-century in ODI cricket, achieving the feat in just 126 balls. The left-hander also became the youngest to score a double ton and registered the highest ODI score by a batter against Bangladesh. It was a day to remember for the 24-year-old who hit ten sixes and 24 fours in his brutal match-winning knock.
Virat Kohli jumps to second place in all-time century getters' list
While the day belonged completely to Kishan, Virat played a sensible knock and got to a much needed three-figure mark to boost his confidence. Kohli registered his 72nd century in international cricket and went past the record of Ricky Ponting (71). The 34-year-old is now only behind the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who finished his career with 100 international centuries.

They are a good side in every format. Last couple of years we have been doing well. We have a World Cup in front and we can do well next year. We have lot of senior guys. They are supporting us. We gain confidence. We want to get better. I try to think positive every time.
Losing skipper, Litton Das said
The way Ishan and Virat batted, that cost us the game. The way Ishan batted, hats off to him. Our bowlers tried our best but there was no way out on this wicket. Had we been chasing 330-340, it would have been a different ball game. They are a good side. We played good cricket and will help our confidence.
Winning skipper, KL Rahul said
This was expected from our team. Virat and Kishan set it up for us. The scores don't suggest that the way he started off. He grabbed the opportunity with both hands. He batted brilliantly. Virat also used his experience and guided him. You know that the batters will come hard and you will get wickets. There was not much help. We took some brave chances. Very happy with our performance. We are learning as a team. Still try to get better. Unfortunate, the results didn't go our way in the first two games. We would want to take the confidence into the Test series.

I think it was a perfect wicket to bat on. Perfect situation for me as well. Was looking to watch the ball properly and go with the flow. I think when you have so many senior players in the team. We have been doing conversations. Here, you try to get a lot when you get few. I got a lot of help from the support staff. I was just picking the ball and the bowlers. Things went my way. After looking at the wicket, I knew it was going to play well. Was trying to smash the loose balls. There is so much conversation going on in the team for the fitness.
