After 22 days of continuous cricket, the T20 World Cup 2022 finally got its top four teams as New Zealand, England, India, and Pakistan made it to the semi-final of the tournament. To make their way to the summit clash, New Zealand will lock horns with Pakistan at the SCG on November 9, whereas England will square off against India at the Adelaide Oval on November 10.
New Zealand finished on top of their group’s points table with seven points, and England were placed second with as many points, but the Kiwi had the advantage of a higher NRR. On the other hand, India topped their group with eight points from four wins and a loss, while Pakistan finished second with six points from three wins and two losses.
As all the teams are gearing up for the knockout games, England skipper Jos Buttler shared his thoughts ahead of the semi-final against India and said that his team would play a spoilsport to much-anticipated India versus Pakistan finale.
“We certainly don't want to see an India versus Pakistan final and we will try to spoil their party. They are a good team. We have got to the point where we wanted to be. Everyone is excited about playing in the semi-final. Obviously, we are really excited about the match against a great Indian team. We like to be in such a situation,” said Buttler in a press conference ahead of the semi-final.
Buttler doesn't, but fans await an India-Pakistan finale
