The Indian team scripted another thrilling victory in their T20 World Cup campaign after edging past Bangladesh in a rain-curtailed game in Adelaide. While the bowlers, mainly Arshdeep Singh, stood out during the second innings, another Virat Kohli masterclass helped the Men in Blue to a competitive total of 184 runs. Former Pakistani speedster Shoaib Akhtar lauded the ace batter for his stellar run in the competition so far, saying it was destined to happen.

Rohit Sharma's men were under the pump in the initial stages of the match after the skipper was dismissed cheaply. But KL Rahul silenced his critics with a fluent half-century. Another magnificent half-century followed his innings by Kohli, his third in the four matches in the competition this year. The former Indian skipper was watchful initially, but paced his innings to perfection to take India to a handsome total after the completion of 20 overs.

Kohli will continue his stellar run of form and score even more runs in the coming days for India: Akhtar

Former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar, who is known for his unfiltered remarks, praised Virat for his decisive innings. He said that it was the Indian star's destiny and the tournament is being played only to showcase his unmatched skills with the bat. Akhtar reckoned that he will continue his newly regained form and will keep churning out runs for India in the coming days.

"This T20 World Cup is all about Virat Kohli. Today also, he made 64 runs and India made 184. If God wills it, then it happens. He was down for about three years and now he’s the top-scorer of this T20 World Cup. The World Cup is being played for him only. I’m sure of this now. I’m also sure that he will continue his stellar run of form and score even more runs in the coming days for India. Having said that, I think India played really well and deserved to win today," said Akhtar on his YouTube channel.
