New Zealand is set to host India for a three-match ODI series starting from 25th of November and will go on until 30th of November. Both teams are coming off painful defeats in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022 although their overall campaign was quite good considering the Super-12 stages.
The series will feature a lot of youngsters from the Indian side trying to seal a spot in the playing XI and the selectors have opted for pace in the bowling department. Veteran batter Shikhar Dhawan is set to lead India in the 50-over format after impressing with his captaincy in the Zimbabwe tour as well as in the home series against South Africa.
With the big names like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul being rested, the likes of Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson will get a few more opportunities to keep continuing their good form. Head coach Rahul Dravid is rested for the series and this will be an important preparation for both sides with the World Cup coming up in one year time.
