The T20 World Cup 2022 will get underway in Australia in a few weeks time and as many as 16 teams will be seen sweating it out for the prestigious trophy. While the top eight teams have directly qualified for the Super 12 stage, there will be a preliminary round to determine the other four teams for the Super 12 starting from October 16.

Namibia, Netherlands, Sri Lanka and UAE are in Group A whereas Ireland, Scotland, West Indies and Zimbabwe have been placed in Group B for the preliminary round. Two teams each from Group A and Group B will qualify for the Super 12 stage where six teams each in two groups will take on each other.

Two teams from each group of the Super 12 stage will progress into the semi finals and the summit clash will eventually be played on November 12 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Australia start as the defending champions, while West Indies remain the most successful team with two titles to their credit so far.
