Team India has suffered a major blow as their prominent all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of the 2022 Asia Cup. The star all-rounder is also likely to miss the 2022 T20 World Cup slated to be played in Australia this year, which can be a big setback for the Indian team.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have named another talented all-rounder Axar Patel in the team and he is expected to play a crucial role in the Men in Blue squad in the upcoming fixtures. Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer has given his opinion on the matter.

It is a big blow for team India as Ravindra Jadeja is a quality player: Wasim Jaffer

Speaking on Bat Bricks7's Run ki Raneeti Wasim Jaffer said, "It is a big blow for team India as Jadeja is a quality player. He can be used as a floater in batting and the way he batted against Pakistan was simply outstanding. I feel team India is lucky to have a like-to-like replacement in form of Axar Patel, but I feel that Jadeja will be missed in the Indian team as he has loads of experience. He bowls tight lines and is a gun fielder on the field."

"Axar has also performed well lately. The way he won the matches for India against West Indies was commendable. However, I feel that Jadeja is one step ahead as compared to Axar, but he is a like-to-like replacement for Jadeja," Jaffer added.

Talking about today's game between India and Pakistan, both teams are coming to the match after winning their previous match against Hong Kong. The match will take place at the Dubai International Stadium on September 4 (Sunday).

While team India will look to extend its dominance in the tournament, the Men in Green will want to take their revenge from the Men in Blue after they recieved a defeat against them during their tournament opener.
